Overview

Caño Island has been rated by Skin Diver magazine among the best diving in the world. Located off the Southwest Pacific coast of Costa Rica, this virgin area offers a variety of unique diving attractions, from 15 - 16' reefs to 80' "walls". The rock formations have volcanic origins; sea fans, cup coral and head corals are the most common. Because of its status as a Biological Reserve the diving in Caño Island is regulated. Only 10 divers maximum and 5 dive sites are open to the public.

Guests will have great chances to see 2-meter long white tipped reef sharks, bull sharks and very occasionally hammerheads. Depending on the time of year visitors can see humpbacks, orcas and pilot whales. Dolphins include Pacific spotted, bottlenose and spinners. It also common to see schools of manta rays.
